WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - A new website that provides standardized forms and documents for independent club owners has officially launched.
FitForms.com, created by a group of fitness industry veterans, is designed to help small to mid-sized health clubs with day-to-day operations.
STORY CONTINUES BELOWAdvertisement The site provides a variety of downloadable forms for under $20 - including employee handbooks, scripts for answering phones, basic club rules, human resources documents and legal advice - and offers over-the-phone or in-club consultations.
"A lot of fitness club owners have backgrounds in fitness but don't know much about how to run a business," said FitForms.com president Gary Hood, a former club operator and consultant. "We're trying to help them out with the business side of things."
The Better Business Bureau and Consumer Reports this year found that an increasing number of gym members are unhappy with the contracts and billing practices of their health clubs.
Hood says FitForms.com can reverse this trend by helping clubs communicate more clearly with their members.
"We've seen the fitness industry from every angle," he said. "And we can help to clean up some of the image problems it's had."
